E SE L'ORIZZONTE NON FOSSE IL CONFINE?
Galleria Eugenia Delfini, Rome
SEP 20 - DEC 01, 2023
Galleria Eugenia Delfini is pleased to present  E se l’orizzonte non fosse il confine? [What if the horizon was not a border?] Nicolò Degiorgis's first solo show at the gallery. Degiorgis's works comprise books, photos, collages, videos, maps and documents that chart conceptually the territory and the communities where he lives.
E se l’orizzonte non fosse il confine? offers an artistic reflection to the theme of migration and deals with deterritorialized identities, bodies in transition and subjectivities that flee, cohabit, transit and hybridize on borders.
Inside the exhibition, a series of photographic works raise questions on the migration crisis in Europe and the difficulties of the European Union in providing community policies. Degiorgis deals with the idea of the other, of the different and of the foreigner, focusing on themes such as the sense of belonging, the concept of border and distance. To do this, the artist moves between archiving, photographic documentation and editorial projects and proposes processes that question the use of images within media channels.
